This was one of the brands/companies we were asked to research for the summative brief, this one was a bit more unusual compared to the rest of the brands that we were given- however after exploring it i understood that it had close links to other areas such as travel, music, fashion, exercise, cuisine and design.
W hotels is a luxury boutique hotel chain which has hotels world wide- in 78 different destinations. W hotels is very exclusive and it's targeted at a younger, yet wealthier consumer. The hotels are extremely upmarket and designer and the brand focuses on providing a luxury experience for its consumer.
W Hotels is all about its sensory environment, with deep links to extraordinary architecture and modern, innovative, luxury lifestyle experience that the strive to provide you with. The experience is amplified with entertainment, vibrant lounges, modern guest rooms, cuisine and cocktails. Their mission is not to provide you with just a hotel but to help you indulge yourself into a VIP lifestyle on your stay with the company.
What i particularly love about the company is their website which explores different angles of the experience such as music, fashion, design, excise and events. Each page is filled with different interviews and articles relating to these topics- which present links between W hotels and these areas.
What i dislike about the brand is that the website is quite difficult to understand- its clear they are providing a luxury experience, however it is unclear on what exactly you get alongside it. The website links W hotels with music, fashion, design etc.. but it isn't obvious on how it is actually in conjunction with each other.
Overall i think that this is a brand that i might steer away from, because despite it being luxury, it seems as though it is very unclear and all over the place. Perhaps something if i decided to pick this brand i could help it improve on.
