After visiting the Fiorucci store in London on Thursday, i thought i would do a blog post dedicated to the brand in order to inform you guys about it! IF YOU HAVENT heard of Fiorucci, then you really really need to!

The brand was founded back in 1967, it had insights from art, music, fashion and explored a wide culture and that lead on to interesting creations of bold colours, quirky designs and eye popping artwork.

Fiorucci broke barriers in history, using a 'why no' attitude in order to create ground breaking artwork full of crazy things that you wouldn't often pair together, for example:

Fiorucci had a strong connection with i-D magazine, whom produces exclusive zines back in the earl 80's. What i love about this is that all the work is synonymous for sexiness, it is breaking boundaries and producing work which at the time had never been done in the same way before.

Studio 54 also had a large role to play in Fiorucci's history. When the company turned 15 they threw a large party and hired Madonna as the singer for the night, whom at the time was an unknown artist. The party influenced everyone to dress up to the maximum effort and fabulous images were taken, which are still iconic today. This one in particular is my favourite:

The brand now goes by its most recognisable motif, which are the two cherubs (featured in the brands logo). I think that this is really interesting, because it comes from artwork and graphic design which is archived in Milan. This is great at the brand developing its own story and identity, it goes to show that if you explore into areas outside of fashion, you can find incredible insights and inspiration into your own work.

I just really wanted to share this brand on my blog, because i think that it will play a massive part in our own perfume project. I love the way that the brand carries itself and i was inspired by their history and how a lot of their brand comes from graphic design and artwork. I was also really inspired by their store space in London and how they have used their store as an area to have fun, connect with your surroundings and indulge in the activities that you can work with in the store.
