Today was really exciting as we finally got to direct our own photo shoot with a professional photographer. We previously gathered a mood board to conjure up some ideas on what type of image we were trying to create, for the outcomes stage of our project. Most of these images were gathered from Pinterest, however a lot of the work would have to be done by us in the post production stage. For our shoot we wanted to capture a specific look to represent our brand, we propose to break through the norms and bring out the creative side of any individual. We really wanted to reflect these ideas in our work, so the idea of ‘breaking through’ really was our main focus. In the shoot, we first of all decided to capture some head shots and full body shots of our two models both separately and together. We used a bright lighting to make the images appear bold, due to both of the models being pictures in primary, colourful clothing- reflecting creativity. These images were important for the post production stage, because our plan was to work around the images in photoshop as well as layering and tearing the images. Our next set of images were the ones that were our main time focus, as these were more difficult to create. We first of all began to tear our backing paper, so that we could place the models behind, for them to appear to be breaking through. These images were inspired by pinterest images and our idea of breaking through your creativity. I really loved how these images came out and the models did an excellent job in bringing out their playful and creative side. Because our concept is inspired by the ‘bubble up effect’- a theory used to show a product coming up to the market by a consumer- we had a back up plan inspired by this theory. We purchased a bubble machine to blow bubbles into the images to subtly show off the effect we have been using throughout our project. We used the bubble maker machine in some of the last shots, as a back up Incase our other ideas didn’t go to plan. I actually really liked these images, and we also shot some video which we hoped could work well for a gif.

Overall i think that the shoot went really well and i am super excited to put together the images and do some final editing in photoshop.
