I know this sounds seriously crazy, but never in my life have I tried steak. Its not that I haven’t wanted to, its just one of those weird situations where you just haven’t done it. Considering I’m in New York and I had heard an amazing restaurant, particularly dedicated to steak, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
Tonight we visited an amazing restaurant in Downtown New York named ‘STK’. I was instantly surprised by how effortlessly cool and chic the restaurant was when I walked in. I instantly felt the vibe of a modern steakhouse paired with a lounge/sexy bar. It was extremely modern and the staff were extremely friendly. There was one member of staff that stood out to me, she was elegant, tall, had amazing hair, heels, glasses.. the lot- she was a major vibe, incredible. From this I knew where my evening was heading to and I was excited to what the night had to offer.
We instantly got served at the bar and were offered a range of cocktails and wines. It made me feel sophisticated and I was delighted that they treated us like adults. When seated at our table and handed the menu’s, I was initially shocked by how pricey the food actually was. It was unexpected but we went with it. I ordered a small, medium rare steak with a side of parmesan fries.
We were firstly brought an incredible starter of bread, however is was coated in a sort of garlic butter and came with an unusual green dip. I have no clue what it was, but I do know that it tasted absolutely incredible. Followed by our starter and more wine was our main dish, which came out very quickly. It actually looked incredible and I was glad that I ordered a small portion as I don’t think I would have been able to stomach anything larger.
The steak was the perfect temperature and was soft. It was not chewy and broke up in my mouth perfectly. It was exactly the way I had hoped it to be and the chunky fries were also perfect, fluffy and amazing in every way.
The girls and I had an amazing night, chatting away and sipping on our rosé. I loved this place so much and I would be sure to return if I ever returned to newyork.
